VOLUNTEERS ARE CHANGE MAKERS
“Volunteerism is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds.”

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering with Pathways is a rewarding and meaningful experience. Not only do you get to make a tangible, positive impact on the lives of our students, but you also get to meet incredible people and gain valuable experience!
Here are some of the volunteer opportunities available at Pathways Early Education Center:
MENTOR AND TUTOR
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students. Our teachers are fantastic, and our student-to-teacher ratio is low, but some students need extra attention. That’s where you come in and change a life! This is a two-hour commitment per week at the Early Education Center. So, grab a friend and make a weekly commitment to help a child build a stronger foundation for lifelong learning. We promise you won’t regret the time spent! Seasonal residents welcome! (weekly commitment)
CLASSROOM SUPPORT
They say it takes a village to raise a child, well it also takes one to run a classroom! Help our teachers prepare materials and organize and tidy our classrooms. Share your interests and talents by reading to our students and assisting with special activities, like gardening or STEM projects. Miss rocking babies and changing diapers? We have the classroom for you! And we can always use extra eyes and ears during class transitions, meals, and playground time. This is a four-hour-per-month commitment to creating a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment for our students. You may go home tired, but you will go home with a full heart and a knowing that your hard work was meaningful! (monthly commitment)
STUDENT EVENTS AID
Between the Storybook Parade in the Fall, the Christmas Concert in the Winter, and Graduation in the Spring, there is always a Center event on the horizon! Our teachers and center staff work very hard to make these celebrations magical for our students, and they could always use another set of helping hands. Make an awesome decoration, costume, or prop, provide snacks for the event, or help on the event day. There is always something more to be done! (one-time or occasional commitment)
DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE AID
Ninety-nine percent of the students that attend Pathways are on scholarship. This means that we need an army raising funds to provide these young children with the high-quality early education that every child deserves. Tasks could include “stuffing” envelopes, organizing materials, helping with special projects, grant research, and data entry, but whatever the task, have no doubt your time will be well-spent. (one-time or occasional commitment)
FUND- AND FRIEND-RAISING EVENTS
Do you love planning events and gathering friends? Do it for a great cause. Help with a Pathways fund- or friend-raising event! We have opportunities for all levels of commitment, from representing us at a community event and spreading the word about Pathways to hosting a Pathways event for your network. (one-time or occasional commitment)

Pathways Perspective: A Valued Volunteer

“Volunteering at Pathways has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life! As someone who has always been passionate about education, it gives me great joy to work with the little learners and help them grow and develop. I wish I could go every day!
The team at the center is incredibly supportive and makes it easy for me to contribute in a meaningful way. Just seeing the smiles on the faces of the students when they learn something new is so rewarding!
The knowledge that I’m making a positive difference in the lives of these children is what keeps me coming back each time.
I encourage anyone who has a passion for education and wants to make a difference in the lives of young learners to consider volunteering at Pathways. Your time and effort are valued, and you’ll feel a sense of reward and fulfillment that is truly unmatched!”
